Moroni 9
Moroni 9 is an epistle from Mormon to his son Moroni, expressing deep sorrow over the extreme wickedness and depravity of both the Nephites and Lamanites. Mormon describes horrific acts of cruelty, including cannibalism and torture, committed by both peoples. Despite the overwhelming evil, Mormon urges Moroni to remain faithful in Christ and to labor diligently, trusting in God's grace and mercy.

"My son, be faithful in Christ; and may not the things which I have written grieve thee, to weigh thee down unto death; but may Christ lift thee up, and may his sufferings and death, and the showing his body unto our fathers, and his mercy and long-suffering, and the hope of his glory and of eternal life, rest in your ___ forever."
