Moroni, the last Nephite, refuses to deny Christ and continues writing.

Moroni, the last surviving Nephite, continues to write despite having believed his work was finished. He is in hiding from the Lamanites, who are engaged in fierce internal wars and are executing any Nephite who refuses to deny Jesus Christ. Moroni steadfastly declares his refusal to deny Christ and, for the safety of his life, wanders to avoid capture. He writes these final words with the hope that they will be of worth to the Lamanites in a a future day.
