Mormon 5
Mormon reluctantly resumes command of the Nephite armies, despite knowing their destruction is inevitable due to their wickedness and lack of repentance. He witnesses widespread destruction and carnage as the Lamanites overwhelm the Nephites. Mormon writes a small abridgment of these events, hoping to persuade future generations, especially the Jews and Gentiles, that Jesus is the Christ. He prophesies of the scattering of his people and warns the Gentiles to repent lest they also face destruction.

"But now, behold, they are led about by Satan, even as ___ is driven before the wind, or as a vessel is tossed about upon the waves, without sail or anchor, or without anything wherewith to steer her; and even as she is, so are they."
