Helaman 11
The Nephites experience increasing contentions and wars due to the Gadianton robbers. Nephi prays for a famine instead of war to humble the people and stir them to remember God. A great famine ensues, causing widespread suffering and leading the people to repent. Nephi then prays for rain, which is granted, bringing prosperity and peace, though the Gadianton robbers later resurface.

"O Lord, do not suffer that this people shall be destroyed by the sword; but O Lord, rather let there be a ___ in the land, to stir them up in remembrance of the Lord their God, and perhaps they will repent and turn unto thee."
